A hub does not earn its place simply by sitting in the middle of a network. It has to do three things well: decide whether an operation is legitimate, settle it efficiently among participants, and send the remainder to the best available path. SUPA's protocol rests on exactly these three pillars, and each one answers a different question.
Validation, once
Single legitimacy validation means one compliance function checks every operation one time. That includes reliance confirmation, sanctions screening, the agent's mandate, whether the operation fits the client profile, and network anomaly signals. Doing this centrally avoids repeating the same checks at every hop, and it means a single verdict applies across the network.
A distinctive detail: operations that exceed a limit become a human approval request rather than an outright rejection. The system routes a decision to a person instead of simply failing the payment, which keeps judgement in the loop where limits are reached.
One order book
Approved operations enter a single order book. Offsetting flows cancel internally, participants settle instantly among themselves, and internal FX handles currency. A simple illustration: bank A sends €10m, participants B and C receive €8.5m, so only the €1.5m difference leaves the hub. The gross figure never has to travel.
AI routing for the remainder
Whatever is left is routed by an AI layer that weighs every available path — hub participants, card networks, local instant payments, SWIFT, stablecoins and agent protocols — against four criteria: cost, settlement time, reliability and regulatory fit. Because the choice is made per operation rather than by a fixed default, the network can adapt as corridors slow or new options appear.
Together the pillars turn a tangle of bilateral links into one validated, netted, optimised flow.

In short
- Validation happens once per operation, not once per hop.
- Over-limit operations route to a human approval rather than a rejection.
- A single order book nets offsetting flows so only the difference exits.
- AI routing picks the best path by cost, time, reliability and regulatory fit.
