Connect a service your operations team can stand behind.

Bring the financial relationship and the technical implementation into the same plan. Define the capability, the information and the outcome before expanding the connection.

01 / Institutional integration

Define the service before the interface.

An institutional integration begins with a capability that one participant can provide to another. The teams need to agree the eligible instructions, their respective responsibilities and the conditions under which the service can be used. Those decisions shape the technical implementation.

SUPA is developing a coordination layer for these relationships. Our integration discussions bring product, technical and operational requirements together, so an interface represents an actual supported service rather than a connection with an undefined business purpose.

Institutional integration

Map the information that must travel.

An instruction needs enough context for the receiving institution to perform its role. That can include the relevant parties, service reference and information required for review or execution. The exact set depends on the capability and the applicable relationship.

The integration should preserve the meaning of that information and make gaps visible. Sharing a reference does not necessarily mean every party receives every underlying document. Access and information exchange must follow the agreed service purpose and permission boundaries.

03 / Institutional integration

Agree what each returned state means.

Operational teams need to know whether a request was received, accepted, paused or completed through the relevant service. These distinctions affect what they tell customers and which next action is safe. A shared interface should not hide them behind a generic success response.

We work through the provider’s states, evidence and exception paths as part of the service design. Particular attention belongs to uncertain outcomes, duplicate prevention and the point at which an operation can no longer be cancelled. Exact mechanisms are documented for the enabled interface rather than assumed from this public overview.

04 / Institutional integration

Test the relationship as well as the connection.

A successful test is more than a request returning without error. It should demonstrate that the responsible teams can follow an instruction, recognise an exception and reconcile the confirmed result. An unavailable service or incomplete request deserves a deliberate test path too.

The initial scope is agreed with prospective participants, including access arrangements and the appropriate testing environment. This website does not advertise an unrestricted live sandbox or immediate self-service network membership. Start with the capability your institution can offer or the customer journey you want to support.

AN ILLUSTRATIVE PERSPECTIVE

From a service agreement to a verifiable outcome.

Two institutions agree to support a defined service journey. Their integration maps the required information, the allowed instructions and the states each party needs to receive. The teams test the normal path alongside missing information and uncertain responses before introducing the agreed scope.

When the service returns its outcome, both institutions can connect it to the original instruction and their own operational records. Further capabilities can follow the same process. A reliable first integration establishes a relationship that can grow without losing clarity about who is responsible for what.

A LITTLE MORE CONTEXT

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Can we join through a self-service production sandbox?

Institutional access and testing arrangements are agreed directly with the SUPA team. Public self-service production access is not implied.

Do you require us to replace our core systems?

The design direction is to coordinate eligible capabilities through integration. The appropriate connection to your existing systems is assessed for the specific service.

Which teams should join the initial discussion?

The people responsible for the service, its technical integration and its operational delivery. Legal and compliance requirements are addressed through the relevant institutional process.
